My Story

The Huexkido Studio was established by Araceli Moreno in 2025 in order to have a platform where she could elevate indigenous textiles and artists, and to educate others about respecting and understanding Indigenous customs and traditions. Araceli is a Ñahñú and Wixárika woman who uses a traditional back-strap loom to create clothes and pieces that represent her cultural heritage. She also has knowledge and creates pieces with tapestry weaving, embroidery, cross-stitch, floor looms, and crochet.

Through various forms of traditional textiles and cultural and modern practices of weaving and fiber techniques, Araceli hopes to connect with other textile/fiber artists and cultural practitioners to create meaningful collaborations and pieces.
